Tina Lapsia

Tina Lapsia is a litigation and trial attorney in the firm’s New York office. She advises public and private companies and individuals in high-stakes complex commercial disputes and investigations.
Ms. Lapsia represents plaintiffs and defendants in disputes involving employment matters, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, false advertising, fraud, unfair business practices, misappropriation of trade secrets, and consumer protection.
Her notable representations* include:
Representing a Minnesota-based technology company in its antitrust lawsuit against a global technology corporation in the Eastern District of Texas.
Winning a motion to dismiss and defeating a motion for preliminary injunction in the New York Supreme Court’s Commercial Division for a publicly traded development-stage electric vehicle manufacturer.
Advising clients on compliance with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.
Representing clients in DOJ, SEC, Title IX, and FINRA investigations.
Obtaining dismissal with prejudice for an agricultural cooperative in defense of a putative class action filed in the Southern District of New York that asserted violations of consumer protection statutes related to allegations of improper vanilla labeling.
Defending a putative nationwide class action in the Eastern District of New York against allegations that improper labeling of anti-dandruff shampoo as “natural.”
Pro Bono
Ms. Lapsia has maintained an active pro bono practice, including writing amicus briefs submitted to the United States Supreme Court, representing individuals seeking affirmative asylum, and advocating for an inmate seeking compassionate release during COVID-19.
Past Experience and Education
Ms. Lapsia graduated summa cum laude from the University of Connecticut in 2015, where she majored in Political Science and Economics and minored in Spanish. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 2019, where she served as an executive editor of Journal of International Law and was a member of the PENNaach dance team. Ms. Lapsia is admitted to the bars of New York and Washington, D.C. Before joining Harris St. Laurent & Wechsler LLP, Ms. Lapsia served as a law clerk to the Honorable Vernon D. Oliver of the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut, and was an associate at two AmLaw ranked firms. In 2022, she was recognized on the Lawyers of Color’s Hot List for her litigation work across numerous industries.
