New ABA Journal Article Highlights Doctor of PSYCHOLOGY Monica Delgado's Strategic Role at Firm
February 3, 2022
A recent article published in the ABA Journal profiled Harris St. Laurent & Wechsler and its unique approach that has others in the industry paying attention. The focus of the story is the firm's "ace up its sleeve: Monica Delgado, a doctor of psychology it had hired…to work with clients at critical stages of their cases."
The article — which features quotes from Dr. Delgado, and firm partners Jonathan Harris, Yonaton Aronoff and Megan Dubatowka — appears online and in the February-March 2022 issue of the ABA Journal, the flagship publication of the American Bar Association.
"Lawyers have a tendency to think that ‘I’m just going to take one more deposition. I’m just going to write one more brief. I’m just going to review one more set of documents, and that’s going to solve the problem,’” Harris told the publication. “The longer I’ve been in this business, the less I think any of those things can solve the problem. Clients need value-added solutions to their problems, and many times that means working harder to understand what’s going on emotionally and psychologically so we can focus on crafting a solution.”
Delgado formally joined Harris St. Laurent & Wechsler in October 2020. She works with the firm's attorneys at critical and stressful stages of cases to prepare clients for peak performance. These include depositions, testifying at arbitrations or trial, preparing for settlement mediations and navigating the unwinding of business relationships. Delgado has 20 years of experience working with individuals involved in legal cases, and in multicultural psychology.
