Andrew St. Laurent Contributes to Chambers Anti-Corruption 2023 Guide

January 24, 2023

Harris St. Laurent & Wechsler LLP partner Andrew St. Laurent recently contributed to the Chambers Anti-Corruption 2023 Guide.

In his portion of the guide, St. Laurent addresses a variety of topics, including the drop in white-collar prosecutions over the past five years, how regulators have moved into new areas of enforcement such as cryptocurrency and what’s ahead for 2023.

He notes that, notwithstanding expansive statements by regulators, FCPA actions and white-collar fraud and securities prosecutions are proceeding at meaningfully lower rate than they did 10 years ago. While regulators (and prosecutors) have aggressively pushed into some new areas, such as cryptocurrency, prosecutions have lagged in other areas, such as fraud under the CARES Act, where vigorous enforcement would have been expected.

St. Laurent is a first-chair trial lawyer who has tried more than 20 cases to verdict, from federal jury trials, to FINRA, AAA and JAMS arbitrations, as well as numerous New York State court bench and jury trials. He regularly represents individuals and companies in criminal and regulatory matters. St. Laurent has been recognized as a Super Lawyer for ten years, from 2013-2022, and has been featured in numerous publications as a contributor. He is Chambers-ranked, as is Harris St. Laurent & Wechsler LLP, for white-collar criminal defense and government investigations in New York.
