Alisha is a no-nonsense litigator focusing on complex commercial disputes with a practice spanning civil and white collar criminal matters. She represents individuals and businesses from a wide array of industries, including financial services, hospitality, health care, real estate, and marketing. A trusted advocate for her clients, Alisha has litigated cases involving business disputes, employment and discrimination claims, allegations of unfair competition and corporate raiding, partnership breakdowns, and securities law. She also conducts internal investigations and advises on employment-related matters, including employment and separation/settlement agreements.
Clients value Alisha’s practicality and efficiency, along with her focus on developing legal strategies adapted to the unique situation of each case. She takes the time to understand what success looks like for each client and then maps out a goal-oriented path. Alisha never follows a set formula for her matters; she approaches each one with thoughtfulness, well-honed instincts and tough advocacy. This has helped her win the respect of clients, colleagues and adversaries alike.
With more than a decade in practice, Alisha has been recognized as a Super Lawyers “Rising Star” each year since 2014 and was included on the Best Lawyers’ “Ones to Watch” lists for 2021 and 2022.
Her notable representations include:
● Co-chairing a two-week FINRA trial on behalf of an executive deprived of millions of dollars in deferred compensation following his departure from the firm
● Pursuing securities fraud claims on behalf of former employee-shareholders of a Fortune 500 corporation, resulting in a favorable settlement partway through a federal jury trial
● Defending a prominent photo studio and its owner against allegations of sexual harassment and retaliation under city and state human rights laws, ultimately obtaining a favorable award in arbitration
● Securing a multimillion-dollar award on behalf of a law firm in the arbitration of a partnership dispute
● Representing the subject of a high-profile and highly publicized criminal fraud investigation in the Southern District of New York
● Defending a foreign pharmaceutical manufacturer in a AAA arbitration involving breach of contract claims
● Representing plaintiffs in a federal putative class action arising from a Ponzi scheme
● Conducting an internal investigation at a large post-secondary institution exploring interactions among the admissions, athletics and development departments.
In addition to her work on behalf of clients, Alisha is passionate about assisting the next generation of lawyers. She is a volunteer with Avocate, an organization that pairs senior female attorneys with women lawyers just starting their careers. Each year, Alisha is matched with one mentee and works with that individual to advise them on developing their practice and growing into the profession.
