John Millson
Counsel
John (“Jack”) Millson is a litigation and employment attorney in the firm’s New York office. He represents individual and corporate clients throughout the litigation lifecycle from pre-dispute counseling to trial, and counsels employees and employers in all aspects of employment relationships. Jack also represents employees, companies, and boards of directors in regulatory and internal investigations. He works with clients across industries, with a focus on the financial services industry.

Represented a leading global wealth manager pursuing claims against a competitor for unfair competition and misappropriation of trade secrets arising out of the hiring of more than one hundred senior wealth managers. After a multi-week arbitration, in which Jack examined numerous witnesses, the Panel issued a unanimous award in favor of the client.
Represented and conducted investigations for independent committees of the boards of directors of multiple Fortune 500 companies...
Defended a leading hotel brand against claims seeking to enjoin a $13 billion merger. The New York Supreme Court, Commercial Division, denied the claim for injunctive relief, which was upheld on appeal, and allowed the merger to proceed.
Defended a leading ETF issuer against claims that it had breached fiduciary duties and defrauded a contractual counterparty. The New York Supreme Court, Commercial Division, dismissed the non-contractual claims following a motion to dismiss.
Defended leading global wealth manager in FINRA arbitrations brought by former employees asserting claims for deferred compensation arising out of the wind-down of a business line.

Pro Bono
Represented a pre-trial detainee who suffered serious injuries while incarcerated awaiting trial. Following a summary judgment decision by the Eastern District of New York permitting all of the client’s claims to proceed to trial, achieved a favorable settlement.
Past Experience and Education
Jack graduated from Hamilton College in 2010, where he majored in Mathematics and Economics and was the captain of the Rugby team. He graduated cum laude from New York University School of Law in 2014.
Before joining Harris St. Laurent & Wechsler LLP, Jack was counsel at Dewey Pegno & Kramarsky LLP, and began his legal career at Cahill Gordon & Reindel, LLP.
